Meet our founder - Dr Charlene Plunkett

Welcome and thank you for visiting our webpage! As founder, I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, I also have a Master of Science in Health Psychology. Throughout my career I’ve been interested in using my expertise in psychology to help individuals, groups and organisations. With 15+ years experience as a practitioner psychologist my skills include research, teaching and training. I have delivered training to psychologists and non psychologists. I have worked in the NHS and in various Universities, including a Leadership role. As a senior Psychologist I have supervised several NHS based research projects and I am a published author in international journals. I am using my expertise to develop The Compassionate Space Ltd, which promotes Compassion, Challenge and Change for individuals and organisations. My vision for the Compassionate Space Ltd is to help our clients create something meaningful in their personal and professional lives.

Charlene, is a compassionate human being and is also an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, qualified in accordance with the accreditation standards of British Psychology Society.

Charlene is an affiliate member of the International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP)

Welcome to The Compassion Space Ltd. I believe that meaningful human growth happens at the intersection of three core pillars: Compassion, Challenge, and Change.

I am a highly trained HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist based in Glasgow. My clinical background provides me with a deep, nuanced understanding of the human mind, allowing me to deliver in depth psychological therapy and psychological coaching driven by compassion and evidence base.

In my work I have also supported colleagues in the third sector through supervision and consultation.

My therapy models include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy among others.

I am available for expert commentary and media work.
